UPDATES ARE SOON TO LAUNCH!

I removed a lot of the recent posts, but all of the good stuff will come back. I’m building in new capabilities to make this site easier, better and more effective for all of us to use. Many of you have given me some wonderful and helpful suggestions—please continue to do so!

In the meantime, will leave all of the side links and resources on the side panel as a reference while I work on the development of the site in the background.

class update

Ok, so I’m going to make every effort to get to class tomorrow morning. I haven’t checked out the roads that I use to get to work, I don’t know what condition they’re in. I assume they’re ok for the most part…however I am gonna be on the safe side and say that I’ll be in around 10:30, so you guys should plan on being there at the same time, too…Good Deal. (If I’m a bit later than 10:30, just start working on the stuff and I’ll be there as soon as I can.)

If by some strange chance the roads I use are impassable, I should know by 10:30 and I’ll call the front office when I turn around to let them know and have them come up and let  you know class is canceled.  I don’t expect that to happen, though, so we’ll all plan on being there tomorrow!

So, about those Saints…

Hope everyone is warm, safe and enjoying the snow!

Kinetic and Sequential: You have a new schedule posted on the Access page. Keep on keeping on with that kinetic typography project! Try to get as much done as possible, as completed as possible, if at all possible. Can’t wait to see development!

Design and Photo: You have a new schedule posted on the Access page. Your upcoming assignment is also posted, just the link called “collectibles stage 1”. You should start thinking about that and getting yourself ready, even maybe taking some pictures to get ahead of the game. Also, start looking for photos as examples to post on the discussion board under your class and the category called “collectibles: bring ins”… I’d like for you to post examples of photos taken that are details of objects, show them in a new light, have interesting cropping, give the impression of being much larger or smaller than we perceive them to be in real life. Looking forward to seeing those Photo Continuations!

Stay well and go sledding :)

Design & Photo

If you want to get a bit of a head start on our next project, start making a list of collectibles…Preferrably something that you have easy access to, something that you can take pictures of. Also, secure access to a digital camera…See you soon!

update

Both classes can share their stuff on the discussion forum…the folders divided by class and project are already there. I’d love to see your stuff and see you guys sharing and critiqing with each other! Check back later for updates, but here’s where we are now:

Kinetic and Sequential: development, development, developmet! If you can’t get to a computer with AfterEffects this weekend, I’ll look forward to hearing, sharing and seeing detailed plans.

Design and Photo: If at all possible, your project should be done on Tuesday. I’ll be posting the next assignment (hopefully) this weekend, so you can start thinking about it if you want to get a head start.

Snowpocalypse

Thanks for sending these, Tate!

Make a snow design & take a picture…

Today is a snow day! Both classes, Kinetic & Sequential as well as Design & Photo, will be canceled today. Please check back here for assignnents and post work in the discussion board. I’ll miss seeing you all—Stay safe!

So, I hear we may get snow tomorrow…

A couple of you have asked me about whether or not we’re having class tomorrow…

I can’t call it yet. Rest assured, that I want to make sure you guys are all safe just as much as I want to get myself home without incident. I’m diligently watching the weather reports; here’s the deal:

If AU says class is canceled, then of course, class is canceled.
If AU doesn’t cancel class, we should all be there on time. But, if it starts to snow beyond a few scattered flurries during class, I’ll send us all home straight away!

If/when class is canceled or shortened, please check this site later on Friday afternoon, I’ll be posting assignments and notes for both classes. Look for information here in the “post” area and pdfs in the “access” area so we stay on track. Also, this is a great time to post your stuff on the discussion board to get feedback on your developments! I’ll be looking forward to seeing all of your stuff there! (you can use a couple of different ways to link files, either through http://www.mediafire.com/ and then there’s another free site too that I think someone mentioned in kinetic & sequential that is better for larger files—if you know what that one is, can you post it in discussion under the “resources to share”?)

Thanks everyone!
